Screen-free piano for ages 3 to 7 · No music background needed

If your child can play pretend, they can play piano.

Snoring bears, talking owls, songs they perform cover to cover. Play Based Piano hides 25 years of teaching inside games, and hands you the words to run them in ten minutes a day.

Doors open November 17 to a small founding group. The waitlist gets in first.

That didn’t go through. Check the email address and try once more.

You’re on the list. Keep an eye on your inbox, the first game is on its way.

While you wait, I’ll send you five of my favorite piano games. One a day, five minutes each, nothing to print, and no screens for your child.

What makes this different

Your child plays on day one. The first page of Book 1 shows a picture of a hand. Your child matches their own hand to it, presses two black keys together, and that’s the first sound of the first song. Not week six. Day one.
Ten minutes, not thirty. Nobody this age sits for thirty. A child this age learns by coming back to something, not by pushing through it. The whole ritual fits on one card that lives on the piano stand.
The screen points at you, never at them. Every song comes with a short video for the grown-up: what to say, and what to watch for. Your child only ever sees the piano, the book, and you.
Built for the age everyone else turns away. Three is the floor, and I say so out loud. In 25 years of teaching three, four and five year olds, I have never had a child who didn’t want to come to the piano.

Hi, I’m Alexis.

I’ve taught young children piano through play for 25 years. Every fall my phone rings with a parent who’s been told “come back when she’s seven.” This program is everything I do in my studio, rebuilt so you can do it at home. You don’t need to read music. You need ten minutes and a willingness to be a little silly.

Why a waitlist?

The founding group is small on purpose. I want to know every family in the first round by name.

  • Waitlist families hear first. Doors open November 17, and if the founding group fills, it fills from this list.
  • Founding members keep their price forever. It will never be this low again, and yours never goes up.
  • We start together on December 1. Ten quiet minutes at the piano, right through the holidays.

Two questions I get a lot

“We don’t even have a piano.” You don’t need one to start. The package includes a printable keyboard, and it’s honestly fine for the first couple of weeks. After that, any keyboard with full-size keys works.
“I can’t read music.” You don’t need to. The first books are played entirely on the group of two black keys, your child picks the page by the picture, and every song has a video that shows you exactly what to say.
